The Council of Financial Regulators (CoFR) held its quarterly meeting on Monday 27 July 2026. The meeting was co-chaired by Financial Markets Authority Chief Executive Samantha Barrass and Reserve Bank of New Zealand Governor Anna Breman.

The Insurance Affordability Review (IAR) Terms of Reference has been finalised. The Terms of Reference sets out how industry and the Council of Financial Regulators will work together on the project, including gathering data. The IAR is due to be completed by mid-2026.

CoFR has agreed a Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate consistent cooperation and mutual assistance between CoFR members.
